TOOTH & GULLET DESIGN
Blades manufactured using Vollmer Stellite tippers and high precision CNC flood
cooled sharpening machines to our specially designed tooth and gullet profile,
combined with the mechanical properties of the Steel enables extended running,
less cracking and minimal or no tensioning between tipping. Tests have shown
16-30 hours cutting without loss of accuracy or cracking.

It is possible to grind stellite 10-20 times before the stellite is worn down.
ADVANTAGES OF THE LANCASHIRE EXTRA-CUT SYSTEM
REGRINDING
If the blades are not being returned to us for sharpening, it is possible to
run the system successfully (with or without flood cooled sharpeners) as we
treat the gullets to enable you or your Saw Service to sharpen the tooth face
and back only NOT the gullets. This eliminates the possibility of gullet deformation
that in turn will cause cracking.
NOTE
For the above system to be effective, it is important that the blades are set
up correctly on your machine and that the machines are maintained correctly
i.e. Pulleys re-crowned when required, guides set and cleaning/scraping system
to be working.
